Bangkok Airport Rail link

Bangkok Airport Rail link connect Suvarnabhumi airport (BKK) to Bangkok city center. The  train travel as fast as 160 km/h!

 

City line

Bangkok rail link City line is the more frequent but slightly slower line. It runs every 12 to 15 minutes. Stops at every stations. Fare varies from 15 to 45 Baht depending on distance.

SA Makkasan Express line

Express line trains have different cars than the city line’s cars.

  • Non-stop between Suvarnabhumi and Makkasan
  • 1 train every 45 minutes
  • Journey takes about 15 minutes
  • Fare 90 Baht

SA Phaya Thai Express line

  • Non-stop between Suvarnabhumi and Phaya Thai
  • 1 train per hour
  • Journey takes about 18 minutes
  • Fare 90 Baht

How to use the Bangkok airport rail link

ARL token vending machine

Use the ticket vending machine to buy your token (ticket). The machine takes banknotes and coins and gives change back. Next, tap the token on the automatic gate to enter. Follow theindications to your destination.

To open the gate when exiting, insert the token in the slot.

Direction Bangkok: When you are done with immigration and have your luggage with you, take an elevator or escalator down to basement level. The station is separated in two, the left side is for Express train and the right side for City line.

Also called Bangkok City Air Terminal or BCAT. Starting/last station of the Makkasan express line.

Transfer to MRT metro station Phetchabuni is a short walk (300 meters).
Transfer to khlong boat via Saphan Asoke pier, also a short walk.

 

Ratchaprarop station สถานีราชปรารภ

Just by the impressive Baiyoke Sky Hotel.

 

Phaya Thai station สถานีพญาไท

Phaya Thai is the final stop on the City line and Phaya Thai express line.

Interchange to BTS skytrain Phaya Thai.
to/from Khao San road area (Democracy Monument) use public bus number 59
to/from Hualamphong railway station use public bus number 29

 

Inside the train

City line trains are as seen above; bench on the side and an open area.
Express lines trains have seats and designated area for baggage.
